HSBC Bank launches SMI week
New Straits Times (Business Times) Monday, July 23, 2002

HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd simultaneously launched its "SMI Week", a commercial banking fair targeted atsmall- and medium-sized industries (SMIs), at its branches in Sarawak yesterday.

In a statement released in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, the bank said its main objective is to provide SMIs with an easy access to discuss their banking requirements and to develop an optimum facilities structure.

SMI Week will run until July 27 at all four HSBC branches in Kuching, Sibu, Miri and Bintulu.
The bank recently launched the SMI pack - an innovative, flexible package of facility structures and services tailored for SMIs.

'The SMI Pack is basically a flexible financing package from which the SMIs can select facility structures and services that suit their financial needs and circumstances,' said Richard Lee, HSBC general manager of commercial banking.

"The package is offered at competitive terms with pricing as low as BLR (base lending rate) plus 0.75 per cent and margin of financing as high as 200 per cent to qualified applicants," he added. - Bernama
