KarenSoft Eyes Level 5, CMMI Certification
Penang, 6 April 2005 - MESDAQ Market-listed KarenSoft Technology Berhad (KarenSoft) today announces its interest to obtain Level 5, Capability Maturity Model
Integration (CMMI) accreditation after the completion of its ISO 9001:2000 certification process.
KarenSoft Executive Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Mr Chee said, we are currently focused on process improvement in order to improve our operational efficiency
and profitability.
According to Chee, the company is in the process of awaiting ISO certification. KarenSoft involvement in obtaining ISO 9001:2000 certification is part and parcel of
KarenSoft's commitment to ensure its operations and services quality are within and perhaps exceed the accepted standards.
This underscores KarenSoft commitment to provide services that exceed its customer expectation. By adopting internationally recognised quality management system, the
KarenSoft Brand will certainly be enhanced.
Added Chee, once ISO 9001:2000 is obtained, KarenSoft would be at least par with Level 2, CMMI accreditation. The next logical step would be for the company to
target the attainment of Level 5, CMMI certification. The CMMI implementation would strengthen the company software development process by ensuring a fast,
competitive and highest quality of product delivery that ultimately benefit the customers. Chee expects KarenSoft to obtain the certification by next year.
CMMI is a process improvement method that provides a set of best practices that addresses productivity, performance, costs and stakeholder satisfaction. Organizations
are aided in improving their performance, and collaborate with external stakeholders to manage their expectations. Other areas that are addressed by the CMMI are the
provision of competitive world-class products and services, as well as the use of common, integrated and improved processes for systems and software
