KarenSoft targets RM12mil sales
StarBiz, Monday, November 29, 2004
MSC status company KarenSoft Technology Bhd has targeted to achieve sales of RM12mil
from its newly launched software, ExecSuite, which is targeted at mainly the small and
medium industries (SMIs) market.
KarenSoft executive chairman and chief executive officer Chee Chong Hwa is bullish
about potential sales from the new software among SMIs, which are expected to contribute 80% to the group's sales in 2005.
"We are targeting to capture at least 5% to 10% of the local market share in 2005," he
said, adding that the domestic market was estimated to be worth about RM400mil.
KarenSoft, a Mesdaq-listed company, signed a memorandum of understanding with the SMI
Association of Malaysia on Saturday to promote KarenSoft's ExecSuite and
miniExtended Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP2) solution.
It also signed a dealership agreement with the SMI Association for the distribution of
ExecSuite to the latter's members. The SMI Association was represented by its executive
secretary, Steven Toh.
The Penang-based company is also eyeing opportunities in the overseas market, saying
that its ExecSuite solution is suitable for all.
Chee noted that there was already positive interest for ExecSuite from countries such as
Singapore, Pakistan, India, Australia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Middle East as well as
Iran and China.
"Negotiations are ongoing and we expect we would be exporting our ExecSuite abroad by the
first quarter of next year," he said.
On its ERP2 solution, Chee said the company was eyeing for bigger jobs, particularly in the
higher-end market. - Benama
