KarenSoft Partners SMI Association Of Malaysia to provide ExecSuite and ERP2 Solutions to its Members
 Kuala Lumpur - 27 November 2004 - MESDAQ Market-listed KarenSoft Technology Berhad (KarenSoft) is set to partner with SMI Association of Malaysian to
promote the KarenSoft ExecSuite and ERP2 (Extended Enterprise Resources Planning) solution to the SMIs/SMEs with the signing of a memorandum of understanding
between both parties today.
MOU was signed by Mr. Steven Toh, Executive Secretary of SMI Association of Malaysia and witnessed by Mr. John Loh, Director of E-Business Community Services
of SMI Association of Malaysia while KarenSoft Executive Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Chee Chong Hwa signed on behalf of KarenSoft.
As part of the collaboration, also witness the signing of dealership agreement between KarenSoft and the preferred SMI dealers to distribute KarenSoft ExecSuite to the
SMI members. This was witnessed by the Executive Secretary of SMI Association, Mr. Steven Toh.
SMI Association aims to collaborate with KarenSoft to introduce ExecSuite and ERP2 (ERP+CRM) solutions to its members via seminars and roadshows to be organised
at specific intervals. SMI Association seeks to harness the technology developed by KarenSoft and bring it to the service of its members in Malaysia.
Steven Toh said "With globalization and the twin threats of China & India, local SMI/SME need to realign to the need to be more competitive via the adoption of ICT.
He added that the association recognised the importance of technology applications such as KarenSoft ERP2 in improving the industry's competitiveness. KarenSoft was
chosen to be the preferred ERP2 vendor due to its solutions suitability, modularity, cost effectiveness as well as its position as the leading local branded ERP2 solutions
provider in Malaysia.
Chee said " As per SMIDEC statistics, there are more than 41,000 registered SMIs/SMEs compared to the more than 700,000 companies registered with the Companies
Commission of Malaysia" For 2005, we are targeting to capture a market share of at least 5% to 10 %. At yesterday, 2nd Dealers Preview Roadshow held at Gurney
Hotel, Penang, 24 attendees has signed up as dealers. He further revealed that there was positive interest in KarenSoft ExecSuite from countries such as Singapore,
Pakistan, India, Australia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Philippines, Middle East including Iran, Holland, Canada, Taiwan and China
According to Chee, KarenSoft ExecSuite (with Microsoft Word and Excel compatibility) comes in three editions. The Lite Edition is targeted at new PCs/Notebooks
(estimated to be about 375,000 per annum) by OEMs while the Standard Edition is for the approximately 1.9 million PCs purchased since 1997.
In addition, the Enterprise Edition, a mini-ERP solution is priced below RM 10,000 and is the ideal entry-level solution for more than 50 % of the SMI population whose
total IT budget is less than RM 20,000 for both hardware and software.
