KarenSoft Signs Contract with Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) to deliver new integrated membership-based ERP System.
Kuala Lumpur - 22 March 2004 - Mesdaq-listed company KarenSoft Technology Berhad is set to deliver a newly developed membership-based ERP System known as e-MIATMS (E-MIA Total
Management System) which was developed jointly with the MIA over the last 16 months with the signing of a Software Users Agreement (SUA) between both parties today.
MIA as represented by its President, Y. Bhg Datuk Dr Abdui Samad Hj Alias and its Registrar, Encik Mohamad Abdullah while KarenSoft Executive Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Mr Chee
Chong Hwa signed on behalf of KarenSoft.
Under this SUA, KarenSoft's expertise and solutions will be harnessed to develop and deliver an integrated software solution known as the e-MIATMS comprising a Web Portal Front end
closely integrated with a Windows-based 13ackend covering membership, events management, financial management and procurement. ln addition, remote access is enabled for MIA's
branches and centres outside of Kuala Lumpur.
Chee says, "We believe that the E-MIATMS is the first and only membership-based ERP System available in Malaysia today. As such, we see a tremendous market for this product not only in
Malaysian but also internationally. For all we know, the membership-based ERP System could be the next "Killer Application" for KarenSoft"
Chee added that "With the implementation of the E-MIATMS, benefits to the MIA include significant annual cost savings, elimination of duplication of work, effective communication network
as well as total information management."
The MIA was established in 1967 under the Accountant's Act 1967 as the Country's national accountancy body. The MIA is the only accountancy body empowered by law to regulate the
accountancy profession in Malaysia, thus it represents the voice of all accountants in the country.
