KarenSoft targets 80% sales from ExecSuite
The Sun, TheEdge FinancialDaily, Monday, November 29, 2004
KarenSoft Technology Bhd is aiming to rake in at least RM12 million in sales from its newly-launched software, ExecSuite, representing about 80% of group revenue in the financial year to Dec 31, 2005, its chief executive officer Chee Chong Hwa says.
He said the software would be marketed mainly to the local small- and medium-sized industries (SMIs).
“We target to capture at least 5% to 10% of the local market share next year. The local market is estimated to be worth around RM400 million,” he told reporters after a signing ceremony with the SMI Association of Malaysia in Subang Jaya on Saturday.
ExecSuite is an alternative bundle software but compatible to Microsoft products in personal computers. It has its own word processor, spreadsheet, PDF writer, web browser and administration tools.
Chee said the targeted contribution to revenue excluded potential sales from overseas markets. Negotiations were ongoing and it hoped to start exporting in the first quarter of next year.
He added that KarenSoft planned to market ExecSuite to 15 countries, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, the Philippines, Pakistan, India, China and Middle East countries, like Iran.
As for its Extended Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP2) business, Chee said KarenSoft would be eyeing for bigger jobs that exceed RM500,000 each, mostly in the higher-end market segment.
