KarenSoft Invited to Explore Opportunities in Hanjiang
A Chinese investment delegation comprising six high-profile officials from the Hanjiang District, China paid a visit to KarenSoft Technology Berhad during their three-day visit to Malaysia on 16 September 2003.
Led by their Director of The Standing Committee of the NPC of Hanjiang District, Yangzhou city, Jiangsu, Mr Wang Yun Cheng, the visitors came to extend their invitation to KarenSoft to explore opportunities for collaboration in Hanjiang District. Also accompanying the Chinese delegation was Mr Chan Pak Sang, a Malaysian businessman based in China. They were welcomed by KarenSoft Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman, Mr Chee Chong Hwa.
Mr Wang expressed his interest for KarenSoft to visit Yangzhou as it is home to fast-growing industries which would benefit from KarenSoft's extended enterprise solutions. (KarenSoft's Extended enterprise solutions or ERP2 consists of Sales Distribution, Materials Requirement Planning, Logistic Management, Planning and Production, Financial Accounting & Fixed Assets, Human Resources Information, and Customer Relationship Management.)
Mr Chee said that the visit by Mr Wang and his team was timely as China figured strongly in KarenSoft's overseas expansion plans. He also informed the delegation that KarenSoft had already made its presence felt in the Chinese market, by sending its implementation team to Dongguan city since early this year. Expanding to other cities across China would be a progressive move, he said.
Hanjiang District is located in the middle of China's Jiangsu Province, at the convergence of the Changjiang River and the Grand Canal, with Shanghai to the east. Hanjiang has half a million people living in some 19 towns, with 13 major industries such as machinery, medicine, electronics, textiles, plastics, leather processing, garments, shoes and caps, arts and crafts that produce up to a thousand different types of products.
