KarenSoft Introduces ERP2 At SMI One Stop Shop (SMIOSS) 2002 Kuala Lumpur - 5 July 2002 - KarenSoft Solutions Sdn Bhd introduced its latest flagship product, the ERP2 (Enterprise Resources Planning 2) during a talk at the recent Small Medium Industries One Stop Solution (SMIOSS) 2002, held at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur recently. The international trade fair, themed “Globalization: The Challenges, The Opportunities” was launched by Minister of Health, Datuk Chua Jui Meng, who is also the organising chairman of SMIOSS 2002. KarenSoft Director of Marketing, Anthony Ong, in his talk "Creating Competitive Edge Through ERP2" urged SMIs/SMEs to consider implementing KarenSoft ERP2 in their organisations if they wished to remain competitive especially in light of the impending Asean Free Trade Area (AFTA) implementation. The KarenSoft ERP2 - a combination of two products, Enterprise Resources Planning and Customer Relationship Management - is a web-enabled collaborative e-Business solution suitable for both industrial and commercial sectors. SMIs and SMEs would find the KarenSoft ERP2 comprehensive as it supports four perspectives of the business - the financial, customer, innovation and learning as well as internal processes. According to Ong, the KarenSoft ERP2 solution also includes business decision support to assist the SMI management in extracting business intelligence from generated data. Implementing the ERP2 solution in their respective organisations would equip the SMIs with an added competitive edge. Currently, both SMI and ASP versions are available (the SMI version was launched in collaboration with Intel Electronics Sdn Bhd in November 2000). The KarenSoft ERP2 was derived from the KarenSoft ERP2000. The KarenSoft ERP2000 was a finalist at both the 1999 Asia Pacific IT & T Awards (APMITTA) and 1999 Pikom-Computimes IT Product of the Year. KarenSoft is also a RosettaNet Solutions Partner, besides partnering with IBM and Intel. KarenSoft is also aiming to be listed on the KLSE Mesdaq Market sometime in Quarter 4 this year. The SMIOSS was conceived by the SMI Association of Malaysia during the Asian financial crisis to strengthen and help the SMIs/ SMEs in view of their integral role in Malaysia's industrialization process. As such, the SMIOSS functions as a one-stop marketplace for the SMI/ SME sector sourcing for business solutions and resources effectively. As a platform for the SMI/SME sector, SMIOSS brings together the best of the industry to further enhance each other's capabilities. The SMIOSS exhibition at the Putra World Trade Centre from 13 to 16 June was a source of information, with more than 200 resource and solution providers from banking, finance, information technology and human resources sectors offering their products and services to SMIs and SMEs.
