The month of October is different this year as KarenSoft staffs were having fun with their 1st KarenSoft Chinese Chess Competition (KSCCC) at the Prai headquarters on 23 October.
Why we have KSCCC? Somebody may ask. "To have Fun between colleagues!" This is what our KSCCC organising committee answered. If some of you still wonder how can they have fun at KSCCC, that's mean you have missed the day.
The event start by giving a mystery gift and a lucky draw number to each every participant and visitor. The mystery gift was a DIY key chain, made by Chinese chess's pieces, specially presented by the organising committee.
Environment freezes when the game starts. Every participant is concentrate on the game where you can see different emotion on his or her face. Some look serious, some feel frustration, some show disappointment, some very relax, some even nervous...
After the end of 2nd round game, participants taking a short break by enjoying the delicious food, and followed by the 3rd and final round of the game.
At last, Ho Leng Peow walked away with the 1st KarenSoft Chinese Chess Master title while Nicol Ch'ng and Phang Eng Hong turned up as The Winner of 1st KSCCC. Each of them received their cash prize and trophy, while the new born Chinese Chess Master won a Crystal Chinese Chess Game Set worth RM50!

The event ends after the exciting Lucky Draw session, which presented 10 special gifts for those who came with luck. Although some may felt less of luck, all the participants and visitors are sharing the fun!
A big thank you to all KarenSoft staffs that turned up to support this event, and also a special thank to Toh Wei Chuan and Ralph who gave their helping hand on preparing the mystery gifts. To do even better in the future, the organizing committee said they have to attract more KarenSoft staffs to join the fun!

2004 - A Day With Special Children
|
|
|
KarenSoft employees took time off to visit some special children on 31 January.
The Handicapped Children's Centre (at Grove Road, Penang), is a drop-in daycare centre for children with special needs. Their ages range from 5 to 16, and they are taught various life skills by the centre's teachers, according to its supervisor, Cikgu Khatijah binti Bakar.
KarenSoft employees spent the morning getting to know the active and friendly children. Besides sponsoring a tea party, KarenSoft employees also generously donated towards the centre, which is raising funds to renovate its premises. The children were also delighted with the party packs and mandarin oranges which KarenSoft employees later distributed.
